About this Summit

Vision Meets Reality

What does the future of communications look like? Building on the success of ComFutures 2018 (comfutures2018.ieee-comfutures.org) and 2019 (comfutures2019.ieee-comfutures.org ), the 2020 edition of the IEEE Summit on Communications Futures continues as the IEEE’s premier event for distinguished professionals with broad expertise to present their vision of the future. The one-day summit, hosted by the IEEE Industry Engagement Committee, will examine the intersection of technologies including optical networking, satellite communications, artificial intelligence, and future use cases in public safety, cybersecurity, and drones/UAVs, as well as standards for ethics in deploying autonomous and intelligent systems.

We invite you to join leaders and innovators from industry, government, and academia for a valuable exchange of ideas against the backdrop of the PTC ’20 conference at the Hilton Hawaiian Village® Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu. As before, ComFutures 2020 will focus on topics of keen interest to the local community as well as the PTC ’20 attendees.
